Norton Engineering was hired in January 2011 to assist the Ahiska Turkish American Community Center (ATACC) with design and development of a new cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. It will be the first Islamic cemetery in the State of Ohio.
After receiving zoning approval to develop the site, Norton completed a site plan drawing set for the client. Planning for the layout was done in close coordination with the Community Center's Board of Trustees and designed per national, state, and local design standards. |
| Phase I construction began in July 2011. The first phase includes rehabilitation of an existing building for administration, construction of the entrance drive and parking lot, installation of the fence, and laying out the first section of burial plots with permanent section markers and steel grave stakes. |  Construction |
