PIT DURING CONSTRUCTION

A growing sheet metal distributer in Southwest Ohio contacted Norton Engineering to create construction drawings for permitting a new, deep, reinforced concrete pit. This new pit was to be retrofitted into the existing floor of the facility to provide space and depth for their new slitting and coiling operation.

Norton worked with their selected contractor to design the pit to be constructed per the contractor's preferred (and quite unique) method. Norton's staff inspected the site, its existing footers and utility routes, drafted a floor plan and construction details, reviewed it all with the contractor and the plant staff, and was able to get the client a permit to build within 2 weeks.

PIT DURING CONSTRUCTION

This speedy completion was highly appreciated by both the plant owner and the contractor because the pit needed to be finished in time for everyone to take their Christmas vacations. It was.
