Allen County Recycling Center:

A private recycling enterprise in Allen County approached Norton Engineering about expanding their operations onto a nearby site that they also owned. The site was to fit a large building with a concrete tipping floor for dumping and handling recycled materials, a concrete truck tunnel, and an inbound/outbound truck scale. The site plan was designed to utilize the space and existing grading of the land as well as having the most convenient truck route in and out of the site.

The recycling building on the existing property was a structural steel, open canopy type and the client wished to have a similar building on the new site. This particular client had a unique advantage in that "junkyard steel" was easy to get their hands on, so the staff at Norton Engineering designed the building with as much of it as possible, while maintaining structural integrity.
